Then there was Metaphor: The Tree of Utah, located at milepost
26 on I-80 (note the wedges on the ground too). European artist Karl Momen
created it as a "hymn to our universe whose glory and dimension is
beyond all myth and imagination." As Eccentric
America puts it, "There isn't so much as a place to pull over
and contemplate this, however, so maybe Utah doesn't want to encourage
anyone to think California-type thoughts."
(We discovered Eccentric America
three months after the sculpture itself … at least now we know what
the art is!)
